(or any website) to YOUR computer

Click here for instructions on how to
print this page. Keep it for reference
when saving or copying a web page

1. Simple Save

a. Before you take any action to save a web page, get your computer ready to accept the saved page.
(1) Create a special directory on your hard drive for saving this information. This will make the page easier to find and view after you disconnect from the Internet. Otherwise, the page may get "lost" in your Windows or browser directories.

(2) Make the first character of the directory's name a dash or an underline
(e.g., "-webpage" or "_savfile"). This puts the directory at the top of the list,
making it easier to find when you are on-line.
b. While viewing a page on-line, point your arrow cursor at the Menu bar at the top of your Internet browser page.

c. Click on File.

d. When the File menu drops down, click on Save As.

e. A window will open in the middle of the screen, showing you your hard drive directory.
